Duties
Assist dentists with chairside procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management protocols
Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and aseptic techniques
Manage medical documentation by accurately recording patient information, vital signs, medical history, and treatment details in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic
Support patients by explaining procedures, answering questions about oral health, and assisting with appointment scheduling as a dental receptionist when needed
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive patient data in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Ensure all dental instruments are processed efficiently and stored correctly following infection control guidelines
Skills
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Experience with dental x-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanner technology
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children in a clinical setting
Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards
Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort during procedures
Knowledge of dental instrument processing, medical coding, and medical documentation best practices
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals
Demonstrated ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies while maintaining patient trust

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
