Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator/Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental staff in various clinical and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in a dental clinic setting and possess strong communication skills, ensuring a positive experience for our patients. Duties
Coordinate patient appointments and manage the scheduling of dental procedures.
Assist dentists during examinations and treatments, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
Take and develop X-rays, as well as perform medical imaging as required.
Document patient medical histories and vital signs accurately in EMR systems.
Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations while managing patient records and medical documentation.
Utilize dental software such as Opendental for managing patient information.
Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote a safe environment for patients and staff.
Help with overflow phone calls or making appointments
Skills
Proficient in EMR systems with experience in Opendental preferred.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus.
Ability to perform X-ray imaging and understand dental terminology.
Experience in chairside assisting with knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques.
Understanding of anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic technique.
Competence in medical documentation, medical records management, and medical coding.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
