Job Description
*LOCATED IN THE SILVERADO RANCH AREA (border of Las Vegas & Henderson, South of the Airport)*
We are looking for a competent and highly experienced FULL-TIME dental assistant who will help to make the dentist’s job easier, run the back office more efficiently and give our patients a friendly, pleasant experience. You’ll ensure that our patients receive excellent dental and personal care, maneuver skilled dental tasks and take clinical tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail, be able to follow instructions and respect dental office rules and regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures go as smooth as possible.
Hours:
4 DAY WORK WEEK, AVG 68-76 hours per pay period. M-Th, 9AM- 6PM or Tu- Fri, 9AM-6PM (We do not work every Monday and Friday, we alternate having those days OFF)
Lunch 1-2PM (depending on the day’s schedule)
Responsibilities
Welcome patients into the dental office
Prepare patients for treatment or checkups, ensuring their comfort
Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
Sterilize instruments according to infection control regulations
Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
Undertake lab tasks, as instructed
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Help to schedule follow-up appointments
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
Skills
Minimum of 5+ years experience as a head or lead dental assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks, like coronal polishing is a plus
Must be able to take clinically, readable non-overlapping radiographs
Excellent computer skills, using Eaglesoft dental software, is a major plus
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail and dental terminology required
Well-organized, available for all work days scheduled and reliable
**Scanning & digital impressions: iTero, CEREC, crown & denture assisting experience is necessary!**
CBCT, Sleep training experience is preferred
High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA, CPR for healthcare)
