Dental Assistant – General Dentistry Experience Required

AZ Prime Dental is looking for a friendly, reliable, and experienced Dental Assistant to join our growing team.

We are seeking a Dental Assistant with at least 1 year of hands-on experience in a general dentistry practice. The ideal candidate is comfortable working chairside with a general dentist, understands the workflow of a general dental office, and can confidently assist with a variety of procedures.

Because this position involves a wide range of general dental procedures, general dentistry experience is an important requirement. We are looking for someone who can step into the role with a solid understanding of general dental assisting and does not require extensive training on basic general dentistry procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of general dental procedures
Anticipate the dentist's needs and efficiently assist throughout procedures
Prepare treatment rooms and set up instruments and materials
Take dental X-rays as needed
Assist with restorative procedures, including fillings, crowns, and bridges
Assist with extractions, root canals, implants, dentures, and other general dental procedures
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms according to sterilization and infection control protocols
Properly sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
Keep treatment rooms clean, organized, and adequately stocked
Prepare materials and equipment before and during procedures
Provide patients with a friendly, professional, and comfortable experience
Assist with charting and maintaining accurate clinical records
Follow HIPAA guidelines and protect patient privacy and confidentiality
Communicate effectively with the dentist and other team members
Help maintain an organized and efficient clinical workflow
Qualifications
Required
At least 1 year of recent hands-on dental assisting experience in a general dentistry practice
Familiarity with the daily workflow of a general dental office
Comfortable assisting with a variety of general dental procedures
Ability to anticipate the dentist's needs and work efficiently chairside
Strong knowledge of dental terminology and general dental procedures
Reliable, punctual, and responsible
Professional and positive attitude
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well as part of a team
Ability to stay organized and maintain attention to detail
Preferred
RDA/CDA certification
Current X-ray certification
Experience with digital X-rays and CBCT
Experience assisting with crowns and bridges
Experience with restorative dentistry
Experience with extractions and surgical procedures
Experience with root canals
Experience with implants
Experience with dentures and partials
Experience with digital dental software

General dentistry experience is required for this position.
