Job Description
Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and clinic efficiency! Duties
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment in accordance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support.
Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining patient safety standards.
Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Operate EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix to accurately document treatment details and update patient information.
Conduct vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and taking payments.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control guidelines and ensuring all equipment is sterilized properly.
Assist with dental procedures involving endodontics, prosthodontics, or pediatric dentistry by providing effective four-handed dentistry support.
Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and using dental terminology confidently.
Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous; experience is a plus.
Understanding of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, supporting pediatric dentistry or working with special needs patients is beneficial.
Certification in X-ray technology or radiography is required; ongoing training in dental assisting practices is encouraged.
