Duties
Assist periodontists during a variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and organized according to infection control protocols
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
Manage electronic medical records using OpenDental document treatment details accurately and efficiently
Support patient check-in and check-out processes as a dental receptionist, including verifying insurance information and updating medical documentation
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging procedures to ensure patient safety during treatments
Maintain aseptic techniques and proper infection control practices to uphold the highest standards of hygiene within the clinic
Educate patients on oral health care, dental terminology, and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing wellness
Experience
Previous experience working in a surgical dental clinic environment is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
Familiarity with dental assisting procedures such as chairside assisting and taking vital signs is highly desirable
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology enhances your ability to communicate effectively with team members and patients
Experience with EMR systems like OpenDental is advantageous for managing digital records seamlessly
Understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes is essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment
Exposure to pediatric dentistry or working with diverse patient populations will be considered a plus
