Job Summary

Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures.
Assist dentists chairside during various treatments, including restorative work, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and endodontics, providing support with dental instruments and materials.
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while following strict infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques.
Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment details accurately.
Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions while ensuring their comfort throughout visits.
Perform dental sterilization procedures in compliance with infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination.
Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments with patient management software, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental x-ray procedures.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines such as pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
Experience with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation efficiently.
Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique and sterilization protocols.
Ability to operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners, medical imaging devices, and dental sterilizers confidently.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with patients, dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff effectively.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times while handling sensitive medical information.
