Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and clinical efficiency. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management protocols.
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and radiation safety guidelines.
Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Open Dental, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details.
Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques to improve procedure efficiency.
Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times.
Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing patient flow with professionalism and compassion.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental for efficient medical records management.
Knowledge of infection control practices including dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards.
Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools safely and effectively.
Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with the ability to interpret medical terminology accurately.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members such as dental receptionists and hygienists while providing outstanding patient care.
Certification in dental assisting or related field preferred; ongoing training dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics or prosthodontics is a plus.
