Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient office operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are strictly followed.
Take and develop X-rays and other medical imaging, including 3D scans when applicable.
Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments and updating medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency.
Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and preventive practices.
Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all equipment is sterilized according to industry standards.
Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical coding, billing, and record keeping for pediatrics or specialized treatments.
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry is essential.
Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging (including 3D scanners), and infection control practices is desirable.
Background in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus.
Certification in dental assisting or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided for qualified candidates eager to learn new skills in general dentistry specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics.
