Dental Assistant - Hood River, OR

Duties
Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures, including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly with proper aseptic technique
Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans and medical imaging as needed for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to ensure accurate medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures
Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring patient safety throughout treatments
Support infection control protocols by maintaining a clean and sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards
Skills
Proficiency with dental software platforms like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for scheduling, billing, and record keeping
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care
Experience with medical coding and documentation for insurance claims and patient records
Skilled in infection control practices and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination
Ability to perform dental assisting tasks such as taking X-rays, vital signs, and assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures
Familiarity with advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment
Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist to coordinate appointments and provide patient education
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
