Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic while providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Your expertise in general dentistry and familiarity with various dental procedures will be essential in delivering high-quality care to our patients.
Responsibilities
Bilingual: English/Spanish
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Record vital signs and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up communications with patients.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic, adhering to aseptic techniques.
Support pediatric dentistry procedures as needed, demonstrating patience and understanding with young patients.
Assist in endodontics procedures, ensuring all materials are prepared for the dentist’s use.
Utilize medical coding systems for accurate documentation of treatments provided.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
Knowledge of general dentistry practices, vital signs monitoring, and medical imaging techniques is essential.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is mandatory.
Experience with medical coding systems is a plus but not required.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Aseptic technique knowledge is required to uphold safety standards in the clinic.
Experience or interest in pediatric dentistry and endodontics is desirable but not mandatory.
