Dental Assistant — Immediate Temp or Temp-to-Perm

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team on an immediate temporary basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent role. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and managing dental equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate positioning and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix .

Support front desk operations by occasionally acting as a dental receptionist scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating medical records while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards.

Perform vital signs assessment for pediatric and adult patients, monitor medical imaging results, and assist with medical documentation as needed.

Facilitate four-handed dentistry by efficiently handing instruments to dentists during procedures to optimize workflow and patient comfort.

Educate patients on oral health care instructions post-treatment while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.

Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant within a general or pediatric dentistry setting; familiarity with dental terminology is essential.

Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix
Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.

Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other imaging tools safely and effectively.

Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management and patient confidentiality.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics; capable of supporting both clinical and administrative duties seamlessly.
