Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dental assistant on Mondays only 7:40am- 5pm with one hour lunch. Located near downtown Lee’s Summit, we are are privately owned long-standing general dental offic. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient management, and dental procedures, with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and maintaining clinical excellence. As a dental assistant, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality dental treatments, ensure efficient clinic operations, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures.
Assist dentists during various dental procedures such as restorations, extractions, oral surgery, , prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to safety protocols and infection prevention management policies.
Manage patient records using electronic medical records using Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-operative instructions, and preventive measures to promote overall dental health.
Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
Assist with the operation of advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and other medical imaging devices to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.
Skills
Proficiency in using Eaglesoft for accurate documentation and patient management.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to safeguard patient information.
Experience with dental x-ray techniques and proficiency in taking high-quality intraoral images.
Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and prosthodontics.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about oral health care and coordinate with the clinical team.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently within a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining attention to detail.
