About the Role
At Ian Smith Dental, we deliver top-tier, patient-centered care with a strong clinical emphasis on reconstructive rehabilitations, cosmetic dentistry, crown & bridge, implant restorations, and comprehensive prosthodontics (including dentures, overdentures, and fixed hybrids).
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated Full-Time Dental Assistant who takes personal pride in their work and carries a clean, neat, and professional demeanor. Working directly alongside Dr. Smith and our experienced full-time assistant, you will share clinical duties to support a smooth daily workflow. This collaborative setup allows for seamless coverage during vacation and sick days, creating a supportive, balanced, and healthy work environment. All procedures in our office are performed under local anesthesia (no sedation).

Core Responsibilities
Assist Dr. Smith chairside during fixed and removable prosthodontic procedures, full-mouth rehabilitations, cosmetic treatment, crown & bridge preps, temporaries, deliveries, implant restorations, surgical extractions,
Maintain an immaculate, highly professional clinical environment and present a polished, professional demeanor to patients and colleagues alike.
Collaborate with our existing full-time assistant to manage treatment room prep, sterilization, and daily clinical flow.
Support all phases of removable and fixed prosthodontics, including digital scans, traditional impressions, bite registrations, try-ins, adjustments, and deliveries.
Prepare treatment rooms, surgical tray setups, and clinical instruments following strict sterilization protocols.
Expose and process digital X-rays and 3D CBCT imaging.
Provide clear, reassuring chairside support to keep patients comfortable throughout treatment.
Accurately record clinical chart notes and manage laboratory case tracking.
Review thorough post-operative and appliance care instructions with patients.
Qualifications & Requirements
Radiology: PA Dental Radiology Certification required.
Experience: 1+ years preferred; office-trained candidates with strong clinical habits, high attention to detail, and recent graduates are welcome to apply.
Preferred Skills: Familiarity with digital impression scanners, lab tracking workflows, and prosthodontic components is a plus.
Mindset & Soft Skills: Strong self-pride in clinical standards, commitment to continuous learning, exceptional patient rapport, and a collaborative desire to elevate both yourself and your teammates.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive Compensation: $21 – $25+/hour for experienced assistants (commensurate with skill and experience)
