OVERVIEW:
We’re seeking a Dental Assistant with a proactive mindset, a cheerful attitude, and a genuine passion for creating a positive patient experience in a fast-paced clinical setting. The ideal candidate is a dependable team player who brings both energy and professionalism to the workplace. Experience in general and/or pediatric dentistry is highly valued, along with strong administrative skills and proficiency in dental software such as Oryx, Dentrix, or Epic.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
Clinical Support & Chairside Assisting
Assist the doctor during all dental procedures, including cosmetic, restorative, surgical, PRP, and Botox.
Anticipate the doctor’s needs and work efficiently to reduce chair time.
Maintain 4-handed dentistry protocols and ergonomics.
Monitor the doctor’s daily schedule in real-time to ensure smooth patient flow and timely transitions.
Prepare and disinfect operatories before and after each patient, ensuring OSHA & CDC compliance.
Take thorough and up-to-date medical histories at every visit.
Recognize and document medical alerts, allergies, and pre-meds, and immediately notify the doctor.
Patient Interaction & Experience
Greet patients warmly in the lobby and escort them to the operatory.
Provide comfort measures (blankets, etc.) to anxious or nervous patients.
Review and obtain signed consent forms prior to any invasive or cosmetic procedures.
Take Blood Pressure on every procedure that involves the use of anesthesia
Give clear post-op instructions, both verbal and written.
Ensure patients leave with all relevant home care products or instructions (e.g., whitening trays, rinse, gauze).
Schedule the next appointment or recall visit before the patient leaves the operatory.
Communicate with compassion, confidence, and professionalism at every step of the patient journey.
Escort patients to the front desk after treatment and clearly communicate next steps.
Radiography & Digital Dentistry
Take accurate and diagnostic 2D X-rays and CBCT scans.
Capture high-quality intraoral and extraoral photographs for documentation and marketing.
Restorative & Prosthetic Duties
Fabricate provisional crowns, bridges, and veneers with cosmetic-level detail.
Place matrix bands, and wedges independently.
Place the retraction cord and remove it when instructed.
Try-in prosthetics and relay any clinical findings or adjustments needed.
Perform initial adjustments on removable prosthetics (partials/dentures).
Cement and re-cement temporary restorations when needed.
Charting & Documentation
Chart existing restorations, findings, and procedures performed.
Make the patient sign consent forms before every procedure.
Accurately post treatment in the dental software (Oryx).
Complete all treatments done in the appointment
Write clear, professional clinical notes after each appointment.
Upload all relevant scans, X-rays, and photos to the patient chart promptly.
Lab & Inventory Management
Pour and trim models.
Fill out lab prescriptions accurately and ensure timely lab case follow-ups.
Monitor clinical inventory and request supplies as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of lab areas, autoclaves, and dispensaries.
Sterilization & Maintenance
Clean, sterilize, and organize all instruments following CDC & OSHA protocols.
Perform daily/weekly/monthly equipment maintenance checklists.
Disinfect shared areas including staff lounge and restrooms throughout the day.
Front Desk & Team Collaboration
Assist the front desk with scheduling, answering phones, confirming appointments, and presenting basic treatment plans when needed.
Support marketing by capturing before/after photos and assisting in social media content
Attend and actively participate in daily morning huddles and team meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in a dental office, including both assisting and administrative roles, is preferred
Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures in general and pediatric dentistry
Proficient in dental software (e.g., Oryx, Dentrix, Epic) and 10-key typing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Dental assisting certification
Bilingual candidates (English and Spanish) are encouraged to apply
