Responsibilities
Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry and endodontics, ensuring efficient workflow with four-handed dentistry techniques
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent infection
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and records management
Support patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures using dental terminology, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy
Maintain infection control standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing medical coding for billing purposes
Requirements
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and terminology
Familiarity with EMR systems like abeldent, along with experience using Epic or similar medical documentation platforms, is preferred.

Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients preferred
Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and support patients’ comfort throughout their visit
Certification in dental assisting (CDA I or II) is mandatory.
