Duties
Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry treatments
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques
Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while ensuring adherence to dental x-ray safety protocols
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care
Educate patients on dental procedures, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care to enhance their understanding and comfort
Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
Familiarity with dental equipment including sterilization tools, X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical instruments
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control standards, and dental sterilization procedures
Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Certification in dental assisting or related healthcare infection prevention and control expertise is preferred
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members while maintaining professionalism
X-ray license required
