Job Overview

Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with infection control protocols.

Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental materials.

Take and develop X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.

Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.

Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout appointments, especially for pediatric or anxious patients.

Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation efficiently.

Uphold aseptic techniques and infection control standards to maintain a safe clinical environment for staff and patients alike.

Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry being advantageous.

Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.

Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately assist with treatment documentation.

Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, X-ray procedures, and infection control practices.

Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
