Job Description
Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support our dentist in providing comprehensive dental treatments, ensuring patients feel comfortable and cared for throughout their visit. Your expertise will help streamline clinical operations, maintain a clean and safe environment, and enhance patient experiences. Duties
Assist dentist during a variety of procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow with four-handed dentistry techniques
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed
Support patient care by reviewing medical histories, and providing pre- and post-treatment instructions
Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient flow
Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and documentation within the clinic
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures
Proficiency with EMR systems for managing medical records and documentation
Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety
Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics
Experience supporting pediatric dentistry procedures is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills to assist patients effectively as a dental receptionist when needed
