Job Description
Overview
A specialty practice located in Whitby is looking for an amazing Level II Dental Assistant to join our energetic, fun-filled, child focused team. We are a fast-paced office dedicated to creating a warm, positive, dynamic experience for children and their families. We know many worry that working in pediatrics can be scary, loud, and little crazy... which is true, but the reaction from children is not due to fear but rather a good experience while having fun.
The office is open Monday to Friday, with 1 Saturday a month from September to May only (Office not open on long weekends or evenings)
Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols
Assist the dentist during various procedures; restorations, extractions, crowns, sedation support.
Take digital x-rays (HARP certified)
Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
Manage patient records accurately using dental software- tracker
Support smooth patient flow
Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining inventory levels
Support pediatric patients by creating a comforting environment and explaining procedures in an age-appropriate manner
Experience
What We're Looking For:
1+ years Dental Assisting experience
Harp Certified
I.P.A.C certification
Reliable, Motivated, and team oriented
Strong communication and multitasking skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining attention to detail
Must be committed to maintaining high standards of infection control and patient confidentiality
Loves working with children
Pay: $25.00-$31.00 per hour
