Job Summary
Are you a certified Level II Dental Assistant looking to take the next step in your career? Our orthodontic office is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Level II Dental Assistant to join our team part-time. As a vital member of our practice, you'll assist our Orthodontists in providing top-notch care to our valued patients.
In this multifaceted role, you’ll work closely with our orthodontist to provide exceptional patient care, assist with orthodontic procedures, and support front desk responsibilities. You’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming experience for our patients while helping ensure the clinic runs smoothly and efficiently. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will ensure smooth daily workflows, positive patient experiences, and seamless communication between team members.
We’re looking for someone who is organized, personable, proactive, and passionate about oral health and patient care. Duties
Assist the orthodontist during procedures by preparing instruments, taking x-rays, and ensuring patient comfort.
Maintain clinical cleanliness and sterilization protocols in accordance with OSHA standards.
Handle patient inquiries regarding treatment plans, billing, and post-procedure care with clear communication and empathy.
Support pediatric and orthodontic patients by providing age-appropriate assistance and ensuring a positive experience.
Manage incoming calls efficiently, coordinate appointment schedules, and follow up on patient recalls or treatment reminders.
What You Need (Required)
Level II Dental Assisting diploma/certificate from a recognized program
NDAEB certification (National Dental Assisting Examining Board)
HARP certification for dental radiography in Ontario
Current CPR and First Aid
WHMIS training and solid knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPAC)
Nice to Have (We'll Train You on the Rest)
Previous orthodontic assisting experience
Digital intraoral scanning and impressions
Clear aligner workflows (Invisalign or similar)
Digital X-ray, panoramic/cephalometric imaging, and intra/extraoral photography
Practice-management and patient-charting software
