Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, with proficiency in chairside support, patient care, and administrative tasks. Duties
Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft accurately, including documentation of medical history, treatment notes, and coding for insurance purposes.
Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being.
Support administrative functions by acting as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and managing medical documentation efficiently.
Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and team members about treatment plans.
Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques consistently to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting, with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics preferred.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is advantageous.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management and patient confidentiality.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice.
Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools used in modern dental clinics.
Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently.
Familiarity with infection control standards and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
Excellent communication skills suited for engaging with diverse patient populations including pediatrics; compassionate approach is essential.
