Pediatric Dental Assistant
Position Title: Pediatric Dental Assistant
Location: Griffith Pediatric Dentistry, Los Feliz
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team. The ideal candidate is skilled in assisting chairside procedures, creating a positive experience for children and parents, and maintaining a fast-paced clinical environment with professionalism and care.
This role requires prior dental assisting experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with pediatric patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures, including restorative, preventive, and emergency treatments
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care
Take and process dental radiographs in compliance with safety standards
Help children feel comfortable and relaxed during visits
Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
Sterilize instruments and follow infection control protocols
Manage operatory flow and support efficient scheduling
Monitor inventory and assist with ordering dental supplies as needed
Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and office policies
Qualifications
Minimum [1–2+] years of dental assisting experience required
Pediatric dental experience required
Dental Assistant certification and X-ray certification required (per state regulations)
Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work well with children and families
Friendly, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
CPR certification required
Preferred Skills
Experience with pediatric behavior management techniques
Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend dental software systems
Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment
Bilingual skills are a plus
