Job Description
Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your expertise will help create a positive and efficient environment for patient care. Duties
Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly with aseptic technique.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring accurate medical imaging and proper patient positioning.
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions, supporting overall patient safety.
Coordinate with the dental reception team to schedule appointments, update medical records, and handle patient inquiries professionally.
Maintain infection control standards by adhering to OSHA guidelines and proper sterilization procedures.
Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as medical coding, billing documentation, and updating electronic health records using Epic or similar systems.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health.
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols essential for safe practice.
Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting.
Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus.
Experience taking X-rays (including digital imaging) and operating 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnostics.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
Background in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable to effectively support young patients’ needs.
