Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques
Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize advanced imaging tools such as 3D scanners to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
Process dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and ensure all clinical areas meet infection control standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Manage medical documentation and records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Perform vital signs assessments and assist with medical imaging as needed for comprehensive patient care
Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist when required, scheduling appointments, updating patient information, and maintaining medical coding accuracy
Skills
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for efficient patient record management
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines
Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention policies, and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment
Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools effectively
Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines for maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality in medical documentation
Excellent chairside assisting skills with expertise in four-handed dentistry practices for seamless patient care delivery
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
