We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and motivated Dental Assistant (DA) to join our patient-focused dental practice. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to providing outstanding patient care.
Position Summary
The Dental Assistant supports the dentist and clinical team by providing high-quality chairside assistance, maintaining treatment rooms, ensuring compliance with infection control standards, and helping create an exceptional patient experience.
ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before patient appointments.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with California regulations.
Perform coronal polishing (if certified), fluoride application, and other duties permitted.
Take impressions, digital scans, and diagnostic records as directed under supervision.
Prepare and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols.
Maintain accurate patient records and chart treatment information.
Monitor and maintain inventory of clinical supplies and materials.
Patient Care
Welcome and escort patients to treatment rooms.
Review health histories and update patient records.
Explain treatment procedures and post-operative instructions.
Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after treatment.
Answer patient questions and address concerns professionally.
Team & Office Support
Assist with operatory turnover and daily clinical setup.
Communicate effectively with doctors, hygienists, front office staff, and fellow assistants.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment.
Participate in morning huddles, team meetings, and continuing education opportunities.
Support office goals through teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
Qualifications
Dental Assistant (DA) certification or Diploma.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Knowledge of infection control and OSHA requirements.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Dentrix Ascend or similar dental software preferred.
1 year DA Experience
