Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are strictly followed. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans when applicable, while maintaining proper safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, accurately documenting medical history, treatment notes, and medical coding. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments efficiently during procedures and supporting four-handed dentistry practices. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout their visit to ensure a positive experience. Maintain infection control standards by adhering to HIPAA regulations and sterilization procedures to safeguard patient health.
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics. Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential for managing medical records and documentation efficiently. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology helps facilitate clear communication within the team. Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and proper use of X-ray equipment is required to ensure safety standards are met. Experience with Epic or other electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus for managing comprehensive medical documentation. Hands-on experience assisting with pediatric patients is desirable to provide compassionate care tailored to young patients’ needs. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is necessary for taking diagnostic images; additional certifications in pediatrics or specialized dental fields are advantageous.
