Job Description
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and clinical expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinic operations. In this vital role, you will support dentists and specialists (Orthodontist & Periodontist) in delivering exceptional dental treatments while ensuring a comfortable, safe, and efficient environment for every patient.
Your proactive approach, technical skills with advanced technology (CEREC), and attention to detail will help us maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence. Duties & Responsibilities
Specialized & Chairside Assistance:
Assist the Orthodontist with clinical procedures, including removing brackets, changing archwires, and placing ties/ligatures.
Provide specialized chairside support during Periodontal procedures and surgical treatments.
Perform general, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric chairside four-handed dentistry using aseptic techniques.
CAD/CAM & Dental Technology (CEREC):
Operate CEREC technology to scan, assist in tooth preparation (preps), mill, and polish ceramic restorations.
Assist in the fitting, adjustment, and placement/cementation of permanent crowns.
Clinical Operations & Imaging:
Take high-quality digital dental X-rays and operate 3D intraoral scanners following strict infection control protocols.
Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure all materials and equipment are ready prior to patient care.
Practice Management & Software:
Manage patient records using Open Dental (EMR/EHR), accurately documenting medical histories, treatment plans, chartings, and progress notes.
Support administrative front-desk tasks as needed, including scheduling, patient communication, and managing documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Software: Proficiency in Open Dental for patient record management, charting, and appointment scheduling.
Specialty Experience: Proven experience or strong knowledge in Orthodontics (bracket removal, wire changes) and Periodontics.
CAD/CAM Knowledge: Hands-on experience or familiarity with CEREC milling/scanning machines and crown preparation/placement protocols.
Radiology & Clinical: Expertise in operating digital X-ray units and intraoral 3D scanners.
Compliance & Safety: Thorough understanding of dental terminology, oral anatomy, infection control/sterilization practices, and HIPAA compliance.
Teamwork: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work seamlessly alongside dentists, hygienists, and front-desk staff.
