Job Description
Duties
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies for various dental procedures.
Assist dentists chairside during treatments such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Take and develop dental X-rays to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix , ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures.
Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation.
Requirements
Proven experience in dental assisting.
Proficiency with Dentrix & Dexis
Ability to operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and other medical imaging tools.
Certification in dental assisting or relevant training; knowledge of HIPAA compliance is essential.
NJ X-ray Certification required
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
