Job Summary

Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized following infection control protocols. Take and develop X-ray images accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes. Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and maintaining smooth clinic operations. Apply aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure a sterile environment during chairside assisting. Utilize advanced tools like 3D scanners for precise diagnostics and treatment planning when necessary.
Requirements
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with medical documentation and medical coding practices. Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or similar EMR systems is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Experience with X-ray techniques and handling medical imaging equipment responsibly. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and collaborate seamlessly with team members like dental receptionists and hygienists.
