Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant specializing in Oral Surgery to join our dental team in providing exceptional patient care. This role offers a schedule of Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 7:00am to 12:30pm, within a dynamic and supportive work environment. Hours can range from 15-20 hours a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment for oral surgery procedures.
Assist the oral surgeon during surgeries by handing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear operative field.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients, addressing questions about care and recovery.
Maintain strict infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments and equipment.
Monitor vital signs when necessary, especially for medically complex patients, ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology and technical procedures related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE AS A SURGICAL ASSISTANT PREFERRED
CERTIFIED DENTAL ASSISTANT REQUIRED
X-RAY CERTIFIED REQUIRED
STRONG COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
DETAIL ORIENTIENTED
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
