Short Description

The unregistered dental assistant supports the provider by preparing patients for treatment, assisting during procedures, obtaining radiographic images, instrument sterilization and providing oral health education and clinical instruction to patients.

Obtain radiographic images

Take and record vital signs

Assist surgeon during procedures – i.e. retract check or tongue

Isolated the surgical field

Takes dental photographs with intraoral camera

Provides oral health education to patients

Experience Required

0-2 years preferred.

Education Requirements

High School/ GED required.

License/Certification Requirements

New Jersey Dental Radiology required.

Basic Life Support Certificate AHA- required.
