Job Description
Orthodontic Assistant
Pay: $24.00/hour and up, based on experience

Responsibilities
Patient Care
Greet and engage patients with respect and a smile
Ensure patients are well informed and comfortable — before, during, and after their appointment — about their treatment and oral health
Clinical Support
Take and process dental radiographs, impressions, and intraoral photos
Prepare and sterilize treatment room and equipment
Provide chair-side assistance to providers during treatment procedures
Document orthodontic care services by charting in patients' records
Assist the orthodontist in assessing a patient's teeth and implementing a plan to straighten them
Perform routine orthodontic duties, including cleaning and adjusting orthodontic gear
Maintain a clean, sterile, and patient-centric working environment
Compliance
Maintain strict compliance with state, federal, and other regulations (OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, Employee Handbook)
Requirements
One year or more of practical experience as an orthodontic assistant
CPR or BCLS certification
Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program (preferred)
Quick learner with problem-solving skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Technical/troubleshooting skills for software used in charting, patient records, and scheduling
Proficiency in fitting bands and brackets, tying in arch wires, and taking consistent, accurate impressions
Desire and ability to learn new skills; strong team player
Commitment to punctuality and reliable attendance
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and desire for professional growth
Organized, with solid knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology
