Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our private dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and dental equipment before and after use.
Take X-rays as needed and ensure proper handling of radiographic equipment.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and update patient records in Dentrix.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling, including follow-ups for patients.
Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist with pediatric patients as required.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the dental office.
Skills
Proficient in taking X-rays and familiar with radiographic techniques.
Experience using Open Dental or similar dental practice management software.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and medical documentation processes.
Ability to perform medical coding for insurance purposes is a plus.
Excellent assisting skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
Competence in monitoring vital signs as part of patient assessments.
Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred but not mandatory.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining medical records.
