Job Summary
Happy Hippo Children's Dentistry & Orthodontics in Palmdale is looking for a skilled Dental Assistant (DA) to join our growing team. You'll provide chairside support to our dentists across pediatric and general dentistry cases in a busy, family-focused practice. If you're an experienced dental assistant who is dependable, clinically strong, and great with kids, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Chairside assist during pediatric, restorative, and general dentistry procedures using four-handed technique.
Take and develop dental X-rays following radiation safety protocols.
Fabricate and place temporary crowns.
Set up and sterilize instrument trays, and clean and prep treatment rooms between patients.
Apply coronal polishing, sealants, and topical fluoride within your scope, where certified.
Manage patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Qualifications
Dental Assistant certification and completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
Current X-ray/radiation safety certificate and CPR certification; Coronal Polishing and Sealants certifications a plus.
Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license is a plus but not required.
Experience in a pediatric dentistry or general dentistry setting preferred.
Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a plus.
Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control, and aseptic technique.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Experience working with children preferred.
