Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant EFDA preferred but not necessary to join our small family and cosmetic dental practice. In this vital role, you will support dentists in delivering exceptional patient care while ensuring smooth clinical operations. Your expertise in dental assisting, sterilization procedures, and patient management will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties.
Prepare and organize dental instruments and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and infection prevention management according to clinical confidentiality policies.
Take dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Manage patient records using Dentrix(experience preferred)
Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments, sterilizing equipment, and following infection control protocols aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards.
Support the dental reception team by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling patient inquiries with professionalism.
Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions clearly and compassionately.
Experience
Proven experience working as EFDA in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
Familiarity with Dentrix for documentation and records management.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical confidentiality policies related to healthcare settings.
Knowledge of infection prevention management practices including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures.
Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry cases is highly desirable along with familiarity in oral surgery and endodontic procedures.
Ability to work efficiently within a team using four-handed dentistry techniques while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
