Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained.
Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and efficiency.
Take and develop dental X-rays and operate advanced imaging equipment including 3D scanners to support accurate diagnoses.
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality.
Provide chairside assistance by managing dental terminology, vital signs, medical history documentation, and medical coding as needed.
Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care to promote ongoing dental wellness.
Support front desk activities by acting as a dental receptionist—scheduling appointments, verifying insurance details, and managing medical records with Epic or similar systems.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus.
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards to ensure compliance.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members—including dental receptionists—and provide compassionate patient care.
