Job Description

Dental Assistant – Functional Pediatric Dental Office
Location: Melbourne, FL
Help Children Thrive Through Whole-Body Health
We're not your traditional pediatric dental office.

We are a functional pediatric dental practice dedicated to finding and addressing the root cause of oral health concerns—not simply treating symptoms. Our philosophy combines minimally invasive dentistry, prevention, airway health, nutrition, oral microbiome health, and whole-body wellness to help children grow into healthier adults.

We're looking for a Dental Assistant who is passionate about caring for children, eager to continue learning, and excited to be part of a practice that's changing the way pediatric dentistry is delivered.

If you believe healthcare should be thoughtful, intentional, and centered around the whole person, we'd love to meet you.

Our Core Values
Everything we do is guided by five core values:
Sincerity
We build trust through honesty, compassion, and genuine relationships with every child and family.

Mindfulness
We are present, intentional, and attentive in every interaction and procedure.

Authenticity
We embrace who we are, communicate openly, and create a welcoming environment where everyone feels seen and valued.

Thoughtfulness
We consider every detail, educate families thoroughly, and make decisions with long-term health in mind.

Humility
We remain curious, continue learning, welcome feedback, and always put our patients first.

What You'll Do
As a Dental Assistant, you will:
Assist the doctor during minimally invasive pediatric dental procedures
Create positive experiences that reduce fear and build trust with children
Prepare treatment rooms while maintaining exceptional infection control standards
Take digital radiographs and intraoral photographs
Educate parents about oral health, prevention, nutrition, and home care
Support airway-focused and preventive treatment philosophies
Sterilize instruments and maintain organized clinical spaces
Document patient care accurately
Collaborate closely with our team to provide exceptional patient experiences
Help families feel heard, informed, and empowered
We're Looking For Someone Who Is...

Warm, patient, and genuinely enjoys working with children
Positive and solution-oriented
Calm under pressure
Organized and detail-oriented
Excited to learn new techniques and technologies
Passionate about prevention and whole-body wellness
A team player who values collaboration over ego
Excellent at communicating with both children and parents
Adaptable and open to continuous growth
Preferred Qualifications
Dental Assisting experience preferred
Pediatric dental experience is a plus
Expanded Functions certification (if applicable)
Current X-ray certification
CPR/BLS certification
Knowledge of Eaglesoft or similar software is a plus
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who aligns with our mission and values. We can teach clinical skills—we can't teach genuine compassion and curiosity.

What Makes Our Practice Different?

We focus on:
Minimally invasive dentistry
Prevention over intervention
Functional and root-cause approaches
Airway-focused pediatric care
Oral microbiome health
Nutrition and systemic wellness
Parent education and partnership
Treating every child with empathy and respect
Our goal is to improve not only oral health, but overall health and quality of life.

Benefits
Competitive hourly pay
Monthly healthcare stipend
Paid holidays
Paid time off
Supportive, collaborative team environment
Opportunities for professional growth
Employee dental benefits
RootMD membership discount for family
Why Join Us?

We're building more than a dental practice—we're building a community committed to helping children live healthier lives.
