Job Description
We are looking for a Certified or Formally Trained Dental Assistant with clinical experience. Special consideration given to candidates with experience in Pediatric Dentistry and/or Orthodontics.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following procedures
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Perform basic dental laboratory tasks, such as pouring models and trimming plaster casts
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Manage patient records and update information in dental software systems
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry
- Experience with Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
- Knowledge of dental receptionist systems and procedures
- Understanding of infection control and aseptic technique in a dental setting
- Ability to assist the dentist during procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and retracting tissues
- Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health conditions
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
