Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team! Duties
Assist the dentist during various pediatric dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry treatments
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols
Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
Manage patient flow efficiently using patient management software such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accurate medical documentation and records are maintained in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Educate young patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, dietary advice, and post-treatment care to promote optimal dental health
Monitor vital signs of pediatric patients before procedures and assist with medical imaging as needed
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling medical records and documentation with precision and professionalism
Support the dental reception team by managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, and answering patient inquiries with a friendly demeanor
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting, specifically with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry environments
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
Knowledge of dental terminology, dental instruments, equipment operation, and infection control procedures
Hands-on experience with dental sterilization procedures, dental x-ray techniques, and oral surgery assistance
Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention standards and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety
Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency during procedures
Understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate billing and record keeping
Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to pediatric patients along with general dentistry principles including endodontics and prosthodontics
