Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and maintained according to aseptic technique standards.
Take dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
Manage patient records accurately within Dentrix including updating medical history, treatment notes, and medical coding.
Provide chairside assistance by managing dental terminology, vital signs, and medical imaging to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote ongoing dental health.
Maintain infection control protocols and ensure the clinic’s compliance with all OSHA standards for safety and hygiene.
Experience
Must be able to speak both English and Spanish fluently
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred
Proficiency with Dentrix is essential for managing medical records efficiently.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control procedures is required to safeguard patient information and ensure safety standards are met.
Familiarity with dental assisting techniques including X-ray procedures, vital signs measurement, medical documentation, and aseptic technique is necessary.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge related to dentistry procedures, and proficiency in medical coding will support accurate recordkeeping.
