Job description:
We are looking for an experienced dental assistant to join our practice in Albany, NY. The ideal candidate is pleasant, responsible, very organized, and receptive to feedback and coaching. We are looking for a candidate who will help make the practice more efficient and pleasant for patients, enabling the dentist to be more productive, and ensuring an excellent patient experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for treatment
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Take dental x-rays
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Set up instrument trays, equipment, and materials, as needed
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
- Take weekly supply inventory and place supply orders
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of dental assistant experience
- Completion of an accredited dental assistant program
- Proficiency in using intra-oral scanner is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Must be organized and reliable, and punctual with a positive attitude.
- Must have reliable transportation.
