Overview
Join our general family practice as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners, co2 lasers and digital radiography systems. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times. Provide chairside assistance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment. Gather vital signs and medical history information to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation.
Skills
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the team. Experience with infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining safety in the dental clinic. Ability to perform dental assisting duties such as chairside assisting during various procedures, taking X-rays, and handling medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times. Excellent organizational skills to manage medical coding, records management, and ensure accurate documentation of treatments.
