DENTAL ASSISTANT

Smile Solutions is looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Dental Assistant to join our growing practice in downtown Puyallup. This is not your typical dental assisting position! You'll work alongside a General Dentist, Oral Surgeon, and Denturists, which means no two days are exactly the same. One day you may be assisting with routine dental care, the next, helping transform a patient's smile with dentures or reconstructive oral surgery treatment.

Translation: you'll never get bored handing the same instrument to the same person while staring at the same tooth!

Our Schedule
Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Occasional Saturdays
Three-day weekends (because everyone deserves a little extra time to recharge!)
Positions Available
We are looking to add a seasoned assistant with strong surgical skills, as well as a general dentistry assistant willing to expand their knowledge of prosth and surgical assistance, so aplicants of all experience levels are encouraged to apply. We would entertain applicants looking for 3 or 4 days per week, but Monday - Wednesday availability is a requirement for all candidates.

What You'll Be Doing
Assisting our providers during dental, surgical, and prosthetic procedures
Taking radiographs & CTs
Maintaining patient records
Preparing treatment plans
Coordinating & tracking lab cases
Preparing treatment rooms and sterilizing instruments
Helping patients feel comfortable and cared for
Providing pre & post-operative instructions
Being an essential part of a team dedicated to exceptional patient care
Back Ofice Ordering and Organizing
Occasionally performing miracles & changing peoples lives while cultivating your craft
What We're Looking For
Current Washington State Dental Assistant registration
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Great communication and people skills
Ability to stay organized and thrive in a busy environment
Experience preferred, but personality, reliability & willingness to learn goes a long way

Ability to multitask without spontaneously combusting
Gift of Prophecy, ie. able to look at a schedule, treatment room or pano and predict what comes next & how to prepare for it

Know your way around Eaglesoft and Treos IOS
Know the difference between "organized chaos" and actual chaos
Are familiar with dental implant componentry
Can keep a patient calm while simultaneously locating a suction tip that seems to have entered another dimension
Have experience with All on Four surgery &/or appliances
Can smile at the patient that is late but has to pee
Aren't afraid to jump in when needed but know how to stay in your lane & offer assistance
Have worked with IV sedation
Can follow colleague communication in the form of movie lines or song lyrics
Understand that doctor wrangler and note gestapo are often part of your job description
Understand that you don't need to agree with the minutia of certain office systems and procedures, but you are required to follow them and encouraged to share your ideas on how to improve upon them
Can be patient and compassionate with high fear and elderly patients
You can decipher instructions through a mask & face shield with suction running at full blast
You're not afraid to ask for help when you need it, and are always willing to provide it for others when they do
