Job Overview
We’re a warm, welcoming private dental practice looking for a friendly, organized, and reliable Dental Assistant to be the first smiling face our patients see. If you enjoy helping people and thrive in a fast paced healthcare environment, we would love to meet you!
Duties
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and periodontics dentistry.
Take dental X-rays while adhering to strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Manage patient records using digital record systems.
Obtain vital signs and review medical histories to support comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and maintaining organized dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Ensure the office remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Run a weekly spore test and perform monthly maintenance.
Sterilize and organize instruments and equipment.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques, including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and handling dental instruments efficiently.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic technique.
Ability to operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and other medical imaging devices accurately.
Knowledge of general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields like prosthodontics and endodontics.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with the dental team and provide exceptional patient care.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management and confidentiality.
Qualifications
Dental Assistant License
CPR certification
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
