Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical imaging, and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff.
Duties
Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments by preparing instruments and materials.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Ensure the dental operatory is clean, organized, and compliant with infection control protocols.
Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
Schedule patient appointments and follow up on treatment plans.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality care in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings.
Skills
Proficient in using dental software such as Epic or Eaglesoft for patient management.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and dental terminology.
Experience with medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry.
Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
Ability to assist in various dental procedures effectively, demonstrating competence in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry.
Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and team members effectively.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
