Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant / Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of our busy dental practice. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced dental professionals, utilizing your skills in chairside assisting, patient management, and dental procedures. You will ensure smooth clinic workflows, uphold clinical confidentiality policies, and contribute to creating a welcoming environment for all patients. Your expertise in dental technology and patient care will help us provide top-tier general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and specialized procedures such as oral surgery and endodontics.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery with precision and professionalism.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software to ensure accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and procedural notes.
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring special care or pediatric dentistry services.
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive patient information and ensuring compliance with healthcare infection prevention standards.
Support front desk operations by coordinating patient scheduling, managing patient management software, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed to foster excellent patient experiences.
Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures efficiently to uphold infection control standards and ensure readiness for daily procedures.
Assist with clinical procedures involving dental equipment such as dental chairs, X-ray machines, endodontic tools, prosthodontic devices, and the use of a four-handed dentistry approach to optimize workflow.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-operative care instructions, and treatment options using clear dental terminology to promote ongoing oral health maintenance.
Experience
Proven experience working in a fast-paced general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environment with familiarity in clinical procedures involving oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties.
Hands-on knowledge of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, instrument transfer, and patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and healthcare infection prevention protocols.
Experience operating dental X-ray machines and 3D scanners with attention to safety standards for radiation exposure.
Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and infection control practices aligned with healthcare industry standards.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism in handling sensitive medical documentation within clinical confidentiality policies.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry considerations is a plus; experience working with children is highly valued.
