Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, along with experience in chairside assisting and patient care. This role involves supporting the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the clinic while maintaining a high standard of patient comfort and safety.
Duties
Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental X-rays while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Utilize EMR system opendental for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping.
Manage patient records, including medical history and vital signs, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
Provide chairside assistance, including passing instruments and materials to the dentist during procedures.
Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene practices.
Operate 3D scanners for imaging when necessary.
Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
Familiarity with dental terminology
Knowledge of infection control practices and anatomy relevant to dentistry.
Experience with EMR systems;
Ability to perform basic medical imaging tasks and understand pediatric dentistry principles.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is a plus.
