Duties
Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk with excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
Assist dental providers during procedures, prepare treatment rooms, and ensure clinical supplies are stocked and organized
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks) by reviewing documentation, updating patient charts, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies
Handle medical billing and coding using CPT codes, ICD-9/ICD-10 diagnosis codes, Medicare guidelines, and health insurance knowledge to process claims efficiently
Manage medical records, perform filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and ensure proper documentation review for accuracy
Support medical administrative functions such as appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, verifying insurance benefits, and managing phone communications professionally
Collaborate with team members to uphold clinic policies on clinical confidentiality and health information management
Requirements
Proven clinic or dental office experience with strong knowledge of medical or dental terminology and health insurance procedures
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth) along with Microsoft Office tools for documentation and communication
Experience with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), billing processes, and Medicare guidelines is highly preferred
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person; bilingual abilities are a plus
Strong clerical skills including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing electronic health records accurately
Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA)
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Clinic or dental experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology is a bonus
