Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant/Receptionist with Front Desk Experience, where your energy and dedication will help create a welcoming environment for patients while ensuring smooth clinic operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical skills and administrative expertise in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. You will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient records, and insurance processing, while also providing chairside assistance during various dental procedures. Your role is vital in delivering exceptional care and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify patient information, and update medical records with accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring optimal patient flow.
Assist dentists during procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties by preparing instruments and materials.
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques.
Process dental instruments through sterilization procedures following infection control standards to ensure safety for staff and patients.
Manage front desk duties such as answering phones, checking patients in/out, collecting payments, verifying insurance coverage, and explaining treatment plans clearly.
Maintain medical documentation by accurately recording treatment details, coding procedures appropriately using medical coding standards, and managing medical records securely.
Support clinical staff with vital signs measurement, medical imaging documentation, and assisting with four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency during patient care.
Uphold clinical confidentiality policies at all times while ensuring compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control policies.
Skills
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry practices.
Experience with dental x-ray techniques including intraoral imaging and 3D scanning technology.
Familiarity with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in a fast-paced environment using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist to provide clear instructions to patients regarding treatments and clinic policies.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain strict confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
Competence in handling medical documentation accurately while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies.
Ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff while demonstrating strong organizational skills in managing front desk responsibilities.
